Yet another mesmerizing episode of the much acclaimed art rendezvous, Kavitactic: The Poetic Action, took place on 16th of August, 2017 at Whistling Ducks, Sector 26, Chandigarh.

The event themed as ‘Travelling Words‘ was organized by the Kavitactic poetry club in collaboration with AIESEC Chandigarh. Poets and story tellers, not only from Tricity, but from across the nations, came together to share their experiences of travel and explored the various nuances associated with travelling through spellbinding poetry and intriguing stories.

untitled-design-10‘Kavitactic: The Poetic Action’ came into being on 19th of September, 2015 with the collective initiative of the founders Gurseya Grewal and Prerit Rajput. Since then, they have been organizing events across Chandigarh every month. “Kavitactic started with 14 poets and now we are a community of 150 poets. Our continuous hope is that we can keep providing platforms to all the poets who have something to say“, says Gurseya Grewal.

The event witnessed numerous beautiful poems in English, Punjabi and Hindi. Pranav, who recited his beautiful and moving poem called ‘Mera Pind‘ sums up the essence of ‘Kavitactic’ as follows:

“Every artist creates in isolation and craves an intellectual, creative company. Kavitactic is the ideal of such a company. It is the perfect community for artists.”

untitled-design-11Present there was Luci, a sophomore student from China, who came there as part of the student exchange program of AIESEC. She talked about her wonderful experience of coming to India and exploring it, despite being advised otherwise.

untitled-design-12While Swati Singh put forward a rather unconventional perspective of travelling. She talked about the travelers who travel against their choice in her brilliantly written poem about Human trafficking. Later in the event, Akshit captivated the audience with his soulful music and singing.

With people from different walks of life, having different experiences, opinions and yet the intrinsically similar persona mingling together, led to a beautiful unfurling of the episode and thus created art.
