The student organized fest of UBS, Economics, Sociology and Law Department, ‘Vimarsh 2017’ kicked off on March 14th with a ravishing inauguration ceremony held at the Law Auditorium in Panjab University. The ceremony was attended by the respected Vice Chancellor, Dr. Arun K. Grover and the chairpersons of various departments. Filled with the power packed performances of students from various departments, it was the perfect beginning for ‘Vimarsh 2017’. A promotional flash mob also took place in the Student Center.
Day 1 started with the Parliamentary Debate Competition organized in the Economics Department and saw ferocious orators debating on topics like animal rights and religion. Events like article writing and ‘What You Perceive‘ were held at Gandhi Bhawan and were well received by the participants and the audience alike. Day 1 came to an end with an Ambient open mic-poetry event, ‘Mehfil-e-Andaaz‘, with various poets reciting thought provoking and soothing poetry leaving the audience stunned and craving for more.
The second day began with the quiz enthusiasts putting on their thinking caps to swiftly answer as many general knowledge questions as possible in the event ‘Quizoholic‘. Events like ‘Poster Making‘, ‘Best out of Waste‘ and ‘Skill on Canvas‘ catered to the participants with a creative bend of mind and helped them showcase their creativity.
The next segment of the fest was all about sports, with competitions ranging from ‘Tug of War’, ‘Sack-Race’ to ‘Tambola’ and ‘Sudoku’. ‘Nukkud Natak’ was also organized were actors performed dramas on different social issues while events like ‘Sell Well‘ and ‘Think Logically‘ were a hit among the students too. The winners of these events were awarded various prizes.
The main attraction of the second day was the star night that witnessed the fabulous performance Prabh Gill, the voice of Punjab
. The guest appearance of actor-anchor Bhavdeep Romana
was also the highlight of the day.
Spirits ran high on the third and the final day of ‘Vimarsh 2017‘ with students participating in a treasure hunt with clues that made them look in every nook and corner of the University. Contests like ‘Get up and Dance’ and ‘Sur Sangam‘ saw participants dazzle the judges and the audience with amazing dance moves and melodious music notes. Partakers of ‘Stand Up Comedy’ tickled everyone’s funnybones.
The fest wrapped things up with the ‘War of Bands’ that took place in the law ground.
This fun filled fest ensured three days of utmost fun, gaiety and wonderful memories.
