Taking the initiative, the Panjab University Campus Student Council (PUCSC) organized a ‘Soft-Skills Workshop- Build a Campaign’ in UIET, Panjab University. The brain behind the idea was of Amit Kaushik, Joint Secretary, PUCSC. The main purpose to conduct the workshop was to help the students improve their skills which would enhance the placement prospects as he had promised in his election agenda.
This workshop was a part of leadership trip organized by ‘Archon’ across four states including Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttrakhand and Himachal Pradesh. The event was organized in collaboration with ‘Saarthi’ which is a Chandigarh based NGO.
The workshop consisted of an activity called ‘Build a Campaign’ which was based on one’s lateral thinking and problem solving skills. It began with discussion on ‘How to create a campaign?’ This was followed by an activity in which the students were divided into teams and had to build a campaign on an issue concerning the society. The topics were male chauvinism, mental health and narcotics, and cyber crime. The teams presented their ideas and came up with many innovative solutions like setting up cells, educating children, creating awareness in rural areas, involving international organizations etc.
The event was a great success and the students were glad to be a part of it and encouraged conducting more such events in the future.
