The uproar of the explosion of talents in Dynamite was heard on February 10th, 2017 in the mega charity event- ‘Sparkles 2k17’.

Being one of the biggest charity events in Chandigarh, ‘Sparkles’ has its own way of enthralling the people. Navsankalp has been taking it forward each year and making it bigger. Similarly this year, they left no stone unturned to make ‘Sparkles 2K17′ a giant success.

5The event took flight with inauguration done by hon. Chief Guest, Shri Anurag Aggarwal, (IAS, Home Secretary, Chandigarh Administration); Smt. Asha Jaswal (Mayor); Smt. Garima Singh (IRS, Additional Income Tax Commissioner) and Shri. Ajit Balaji Joshi (IAS, Deputy Commissioner) also marked their presence in the event, making it even more bigger.

Keeping up with Sparkle’s tradition, Vatika School’s students performed a dance in the event which softened the hearts of all present. The day witnessed bunch of over-whelming and ecstatic performances, by Lassya (the official dance crew of DAVC), the Bow Crew, Zunoon and many other solo and group performances. From classical to stand-up comedy, every kind of performance was present in the event.

The central aim of the event was fulfilled when the non-profit student-run organisation NavSankalp raised over Rs. 1,94,000 for the heart patients- Karan, Mustaq and Lakshay.

2“Our first aim, that is to provide donations to the needy patients, always pushed us to take that extra-step so that we can help the needy with utmost efforts; our second aim is to provide stage to the very-talented students who didn’t get chance in their school due to whatever reason, we worked hard to make this event massive.” Said the founder of NavSankalp, Dr. Harpriya Kaur.

Arth- The emotional NavSankalp Dance Drama, brought tears to the eyes of many. The dance drama focused on special children and how they are not any lesser than the others. Also, the drama was a tribute to Rahul Sharma, a NavSankalpian who passed away last year. To cool the heat, the drama was followed by modelling. People were seen walking on the ramp in their ‘Indian attire’ as well as ‘Western attire’. The crowd was elevated by all the performances.

1The cherry on the cake was still left. The main attraction of the show- Zora Randhawa and Hardy Sandhu took the stage marking the crowd. The crowd of about 10,000 students and adults was seen dancing and hooting on songs such as ‘Wonderland’ and ‘Soch’. It was indeed a blockbuster show, which was quite evident from the smiles on the faces of the people present there. Even, the singers enjoyed the over-participating crowd. A traditional Bhangra performance marked the conclusion of the show.

Saving lives of many, NavSankalp looks forward to help more and more of needy patients because every dark life deserves a light.
