While the HERO (Sooraj Pancholi) had just left the campus of MCM DAV College for Woman a few days ago, Punjabi stars stepped in the campus no sooner. Yes, MCM witnessed the same zeal and excitement to welcome ‘Punjab diyan shaan’ (Pride of Punjab) Jassi Gill and Babbal Rai, on 17th September 2015. The college played host, yet again to the shining stars of the entertainment industry in a function organized by MCM Rotaract Club.

With keen eyes and beating hearts, the event saw girls waiting for their Punjabi heart throbs, who visited the college for the promotion of their upcoming movie- DIL DARRIYAN, releasing on 9th October. The hall came alive with the sound the stars’ names, as the students stood on the chairs to get a glimpse of their favourite singers.

The ‘Tere Laayi’ singer allured the girls with his shy and cute smile, blushing now and then while Jassi Gill won hundreds of hearts with his ‘khule mijaz’. Jassi Gill personally went on to thank the ‘Bhangra girls’ for welcoming them with their enthralling performance and introduced Babbal Rai as the ‘sharmila munda’ (shy boy). But, the star moment came when both the singers filled the ambience with liveliness, by addressing the crowd and singing the demanded songs. From ‘One Dream’ to ‘Billi Billi Aankein’, the two completely mesmerized everybody around. On special request from the students Jassi Gill also sang ‘Laden’, ‘Ghagra De Laun’ and many more.

Not only did these stars sing but also created a huge frenzy among the audience by giving them some Bhangra moments. Although the girls were profuse with energy on meeting the jolly singers, the duo compelled the college students to shake their legs and sing along with them, while they sang their energetic numbers. They indeed showcased the true Punjabi spirits, spell binding each and every soul present there!

Following the performances as equal to the Punjabi live concert, these humble singers presented gifts, donated by the MCM Rotaract Club, to the students of Heritage School.

As another starry day ended, the bubbly and high-spirited singers left beautiful smiles on girls of the college. They not only made room in the heart of the students but also preserved their experience on the pages of MCM’s Diary!
