The Indian stereotype exists that Engineering is profession of banalities, boredom & blandness. What(they think) we want is a 9-5 desk job at an X IT service company with a lump-sum package and the hope to settle in अमेरिका/कनाडा.
Yes, the stereotype holds for a majority of the lot. However, with this new age technologic mass-entrepreneurial movement, young minds are becoming open to the idea of being their own boss, their own hero. To have the courage & freedom to make their own mistakes.

In recent years, UIET has built a special reputation in the city for a large of full-fledged entrepreneurs. EDC UIET is known in the college for it’s intensive workshops and events that facilitate the spirit of entrepreneurship.
In a session/boot camp with Kunal Nandwani,  director of Utrade — a start-up based in Chandigarh and Vineet Khurana– founder of Viprasoft ; held at Old Library, UIET on the 14th of October ’15 the students of the college were made aware of what it truly takes to be an entrepreneur. It’s not the complexity of the idea, but the execution of it. The reasons to be an entrepreneur are relative but the one thing that matters is the learning you take from it. And if one fails, he should have the courage to bounce back and win. In the interactive boot camp that followed, the students were asked to make pairs and come up with a word that came to their minds. Each group chose a name of their start-up from the given words and came up with a business plan in 15 minutes. The intense yet fun activity was a teaser of the adventurous reality.

Over a 100 students took back great learning’s and an swell experience.
