“They do not have any special talents, they just have a great passion for dance,” these were the opening words of the very best dancing crew, Dancing Shadows a.k.a DSW’s auditions. There was a true display of talent and passion, in the main auditorium of DAV college, Sector 10, Chandigarh on August 2, 2017 as the auditions to be a part of the DSW for the upcoming session were conducted, with almost 150 participants and more than a hundred viewers were present.

gandhi-9The event kick-started with the present DSW showcasing their extraordinary dancing skills to the participants as well as the audience. The audience was beyond enthralled by the performance by DSW on a Hindi-Punjabi-English mash-up song and left the participants in awe. The performance by DSW was immediately followed by different dancers and groups presenting their dancing talents to the judges with the sole aim of getting selected for one of the most respected dancing crew in Chandigarh, that is, DSW. Some of the performances were so good that each one present in the audience (even judges), wasn’t able to stop themselves from jumping from their chairs hoot for the performer.

He said,  “Failure is not the end; we will get many opportunities, so we should never lose hope”. He stressed on the well-known fact that not everyone can become a doctor, a teacher or an engineer; some of us love art and his kind of art was dance and he wanted to explore it further.

The list of Judges included KRU-72 (Chandigarh based rappers), Bhanu Rico Gaur and Gagan Gaur (the founders of the group), in the presence of Manisha Modi, Jagdish Mehta and Vandana Sharma (teachers of DAVC). The sponsors of the event were UBER, Vivo and Buddies Confectionery, Sector-15. The event also had RJ Abhimanyu as an appearing guest, who added to the environment of energy and enthusiasm. He also called on the stage a few novice participants and two already-existing members of DSW and made those participants copy the steps of the veteran dancers to make them understand that no one is a bad dancer and that anybody can dance.

The event as a whole was really entertaining and time-worthy. DSW has been making a mark in the dancing sphere lately and strives to leave no stone unturned to be the best in their field.
