While a number of events are been organized in Chandigarh to contribute to social responsibility, not many of those events could have matched up with the smiles BALAKALAKAAR, an initiative under Tarang 2015 by AIESEC Chandigarh, left on the faces of underprivileged children on November 30th, 2015 in the Rock Garden.

The event started with some icebreakers to bring in an element of fun. It then went on to explore the talent of the students of various NGOs. A number of students from NGOs such as Humari Kaksha, Don Bosco, Snehalya, Aashiana and Jeevan Mukti, came up with spellbinding performances, with some amazing the audience with their voice and others attracting the crowd with their dance moves. Yet some chose plays and magical tricks to entertain the gathering.

After a short break, the event continued with the Dance Competition. Here also, the students did not leave any stone unturned and with every performance, the level was getting higher. It was followed by a painting competition which was marked by the colorful creations of these unexplored souls. While these artists did not require any prize to certify their talent, the prize distribution ceremony did add another sheen to their experience of the day.

The event aimed at bringing about holistic development and it did fulfill its aim with a large gathering of students making full utilization of the platform provided by AIESEC to make them realize their potential.

The grand event was graced by the presence of  Mr. Vijay Dev, Advisor to the Administrator, Chandigarh as the Chief Guest. Reflecting upon the event thus organized, Mr. Hunny Hans, the President of AIESEC said, “Today’s event was not a success. It will be a success once harmony is instilled, once we have people acting on it, once not only they know about it but know how to do it as well. Then it will be a success!”
