Every year on 14th of July, Bastille Day make huge crowd to gather on the Promenade des Anglaison, to rejoice and commemorate the commencement of the French Revolution. However, this occasion of merriment and festivity ended in blood, tears, loss, deaths and agony, making it the second most dreadful night in the history of France.
A man, single-handedly, marred the celebration of many, staining their memories with blood and agony forever. This heartless human had a motive which said ‘kill as many as you could’. Mohamed Lahouaiej-Bouhlel (a 31-year-old Tunisian) is the reason behind the death of 84 people, out of which 10 were children. It is believed that the death toll could have risen, if the police hadn’t shot Lahouaiej-Bouhlel dead. It was also found that the attack was done as a response to those, who are against the Islamic State. What a shame!
After the attack, the wife of the attacker was arrested and questioned by the French Police. Other than Bouhel’s wife, four others have also been arrested, who were suspected of having a contribution in the massive onslaught. ISIL, shamelessly, took the responsibility for the attack. This aggression took 303 people to the hospital, out of which 21 adults and 5 children were seriously injured and are in Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Such horrific events personify the craziness and insanity of this world. And this attack is just another example. Shamefully, the number of deaths is rising due to these attacks which are rendering us helpless and paralysed. We can’t even say, “Whatever happens; happens for the best.” Let’s not blame our fate and bang our heads against the wall. Rather fight against these hypocrite innocent-faces, who in the name of Almighty, preaches terrorism.
Just lighting the candles on the street wouldn’t help; we need to work harder to take an action against these attacks.
While reading articles such as this, one must think as to what wrong must have been done by the country, that it had to face such harshness and cruelty. This curiosity and questions will lead you to the answer what you want.
