Every mother is a blessing, yes! But a Punjabi mother– she’s a benediction. From being their khottey de puttar, to their laddu and pinni, Punjabi moms are those rare birds who make sure that ‘ghar ch raunakan lageya rehen‘! So, we bring to you five things every Punjabi mom says, which makes them unique as it is-
1. Jeete raho, phulo-phalo (khair chaddo):
2. Jado kudi jawaan ho jaundi ae, ohdi maa, maa nahi saheli ban jaundi ae:
3. Fitte-muh! Vadde aaye mainu sikhaun aale:
4. Kinni vaari tuhanu keha ae, ki drink karte samay Vicky da naam na liya karo. Sari uttar jandi hai:
She’ll be your partner in peg, it requires only one glass of diluted Bacardi to keep her feeling duped and laughing for the entire day! And no matter how drunk she feels, she’ll be equally concerned about you.
5. Hayee, dekhi mera puttar kina sukh gya ae:
Even if you’ve gained 20 kgs in the past one week, she’s still going to find you kamzor. Keeping in view the same, she’ll make sure that you keep on gorging rajma chawal, butter chicken, dal makhni and desi-ghee ke bane aalo-ke-paranthe, with dollops of butter.
P.S: She is well-versed in creating a situation of national emergency, when the desi ghee is finished at home!
Well, now you should get going or else you’d be blessed with another lesson on, “Sara din baitha mobile ch tick-tick karda rehnda ae, jive pta nahi kede business chalde ethe!”
Long live Punjabi moms!
