Hey fellas!

Admission season is on! Air is hot, not only because of June heat, but also because of head-blasting confusions regarding the admission in Chandigarh colleges.

Yes, there is and will be hassle amongst high school graduates, as they step afresh out of the school life. But are they alone? No! Apparently, the first-yearly BA students of PU are sailing on the same boat, with the Honours admission pinging them about in a high manner.

Well, if that is the case with you, fikar not. This is a full-proof guide for the to-be seniors of the college. Take care of following points and rock the honours course like a pro, both during and after the admission.

  • Keep a tally of last year’s cut offs:

s1

Usually, last year’s cut offs help a lot in analyzing the marks, which is set as threshold for Hons. Every college has a different cut off, decided as per average marks obtained by the batch and the availability of seats.
This year is the second batch of semester-system, so the only option to get to the last-year’s cut-offs is by consulting your seniors.

  • Choose the subject wisely

s3

It’s very important to choose the subject with utmost caution. You are going to study that subject for the next two years. So make sure that you will be happy, while studying it.

  • Easier than the General Subjects

s2

Although, Hons is a specialized course, it is comparatively easier to General course. And this is in case of all the subjects, be it psychology, economics or English. So, if you are thinking about not to take hons to avoid burden, don’t worry, it’s not that tough to carry.

  • Result is declared quite late:

s4

After your 3rd semester exams, Hons result is badly awaited. (Spoiler Alert) It is announced pretty late, sometimes it takes as much as 7 months to come out.

  • Documents to keep handy for admission:

s5

Keep following documents ready, for the counseling session of admission.

A) 10th and 12th Marksheet:

Photocopy of 10th and 12th mark-sheet.

B) 1st Semester Result:

Keep original (if obtained) or printed version of your marksheet ready.

C) Photographs:

Keep two copies of your photograph ready.

D) Stationary Kit:

Always and always keep a stationary kit, including pen and whitener, to tackle if you get to make changes in your admission form or somewhere else. It will be a lot helpful.

I wish that you get your favourite subject and excel in the same. Good luck and all the best from PU Mirror team.
